Next steps...

So, the pilot has been made and is in the distant past. Having feedback on the pilot has been very useful  and I'm determined to push my realisation so that it is both convincing and representative of a 'media environment'. Having done the majority of my theoretical research, I feel that now the pilot is done and dusted, I need to concentrate on researching my project visually as well as working on the narrative. My plan of action over the next few weeks:

  • Research 'media moguls', to create a character profile in terms of how they act, look, talk etc. This type of research will aid me in creating a convincing character for my motion comic
  • Work on creating a sophisticated narrative that justifys the complexity of the research I have conducted so far.
  • Create a convincing representation of set pieces of character's office, this will require further visual research as to how a typical media office would look inc. props and location. In this research, I will compare and contrast various settings to see what will work and why.
  • Establish suitable locations (office space) for shot list
  • Advertise on campus for a voice actor (drama students?)
  • Find street locations that would be suitable
  • Buy my own tripod!
As well as conducting visual research, I'm also going to look at work by Stanley Milgram, in particular his books:

  • Obedience to authority
  • The individual in a social world. Essays and experiments
These books I will find quite interesting as they fit into the ideas and research I have already looked at regarding media control.

It's going to be busy few months in the count down to hand in...
